First of our Hearts and prayers go out to all those lost lives and families affected.
Wednesday night at 8.48pm the first alert comes over the air regarding an air accident at the airport’s fire rescue from the control tower at Ronald Regan Washington National Airport. Automatic and mutual aid, including multiple agencies respond. A Military Black Hawk helicopter crashed into an American Airlines flight on final approach to the airport. The flight was from Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport. A routine flight with no issues reported. Both the helicopter and regional aircraft crashed into the potamic river. A frigid cold night with windy conditions and pitch black making it a difficult rescue and recovery.
As of 10am local time so far 28 bodies had been recovered and still no signs of life. This is still an ongoing incident. The airport will resume with a restricted number of flights from 11 am local time onwards. Many flights are still cancelled and delayed. Fire and Aviation TV has been reporting since it first happened last night on X media.

Even since last night with raw video footage and preliminary reports it is evident the pilots of American Airlines flight operated by PSA Airlines are not responsible for this mid-air collision. Ay 300 feet and cleared for landing at Reagan airport with a slight left turn to align themselves to runway 33 this is when the sudden impact occurred. There are by far more questions unanswered and as to why.
The military aircraft was on a training mission and with a view of raw footage from afar can be seen approach the regional Canadair CRJ 700 series with some 60 passengers and 4 flight crew members on board.
There has not been a major airline incident in over 16 years. There have been over the last few years many a close call and recently in May 2024 one a Reagan airport. Many questions and answered queries like why was the flight cleared to land on the collision course of the military helicopter. Based on a leaked radar video from a X media account that subsequently was shortly deleted and now the account is also no longer. This makes for far more questions than any answers yet.
