Presidents Day Another Plane Crash

State side an Endeavour Air took off from Minneapolis Saint Paul airport this Presidents Day, bound for Toronto Canada. The flight was a Delta Airlines flight 4819 that departed 11.34am local time. Flying with no problems reported headed to Toronto where cross winds were approximately 38 mph not snowing. However frigid cold and snow and ice from previous days of record snow in the area.

The aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ 900 was on approach at Toronto Pearson International Airport just after 2pm local time when the aircraft carrying eighty people on board including the two pilots and two flight attendants. A full flight when incident occurred Fire and Aviation TV received from a Toronto source an alert 3 crash, crash, crash was radioed. The airport’s Fire Rescue Department responded immediately. Our initial report was 8 injured, no fatalities. Since that time, the report has documented an increase to 16 injuries, including one involving a child. As the aircraft tried to land it ended up upside down with a fire that started at the rear and rapidly extinguished by airport rescue fire trucks.  

This year in South Korea a fatal air crash and another has occurred. Then in Washington DC a Blackhawk army helicopter on a training mission crashed mid air on a flight of American Airlines operated by PSA Airline that too was a Bombardier CRJ 700 regional jet.

Two days latter and medic flight out of north Philadelphia crashed into the ground killing all on board and setting fire to houses cars and in the area. This looked like Armageddon with multiple injuries on the ground as it happened around 6.30pm local time on a Friday night.

The NTSB has stated they will respond to the crash site along with a team from the F.A.A. Additional information will be provided by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
