A day to remember forever and 80 years to the day. To those who gave all and all those who gave some. Thousands of lost lives with those survived by their lost loved ones. They never forget.
A day celebrated by millions in Britain and a strong country with thanks from several countries who fought side by side. Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister, showed the V sign for Victory to crowds in Whitehall, London. Hence the name VE Day. A victorious day for Europe. No more air raid sirens no more continuous bombing through the night. The western world celebrated joyously, from North America to the USSR, now known as Russia.
Today is May 8, 2025, it is 80 years to the day. If only the generation today had learned anything from the past, then maybe we would not have the wars and violent clashes we have today. From Sudan to Israel to Palestine to Yemen. From the latest with India striking Pakistan. For the last three years when Russia attacked Ukraine. Other civil wars and disturbances across the globe and as close to the US. Haiti for which has been a violent mess for the last few years.
Can we please learn from the past stop these violent outbursts including those who support Hamas. Enough as you all are not welcome with attacks like those in other countries. In France attacks in Holland attacks in Sweden attacks. Loud and sometimes physical protest here in the US are NOT welcomed at all. Stop this is not going to solve anything. Now if only Britain could learn from its own history the country would not be in the state it is today. So many migrants have total disrespect for that country, Britain and the British people in their own country.
Eighty years later, we share this story of even the founder’s grandfather who served. Standing by the flag is deeply meaningful, and it should be for you too, wherever you live. Have respect for that country and not bring violence or the military may be there defending its country. This is why we salute the American flag and still to this day get the feeling and emotions of having even served in the fire service.
Finally, honor those who serve today, remembering V Day’s 80th anniversary on May 8, 1945.
