A quick recap and mention that many fire departments across the country have been squeezed out of the budget. There are some municipalities that have been restricted or even local city council members let their personal agenda take over on decisions. Some departments have been taken over by bigger departments even though for many years of’ service was provided without any major problems. Thus, bringing insurance and local taxes for fire suppression up for those local communities.
For 2025 one thing is fire departments need a substantial increase in their operating budget. Even major cities can be affected as we learned last year from the city of Atlanta with its Fire Truck fleet status.
Many airports across the country in 2024 were awarded millions of dollars for infrastructure improvements. Although the FAA was short changed, and government should have increased budget for upgrades and staffing. With that said there was no program for fire departments on a national upgrade investment program.
Fire and Aviation TV is mulling over some ideas that better both. As we begin the New Year at this quarter century it is time to be bold and aggressive but with pure professionalism.
In these two markets have turned to many dirty tricks in order to keep others outside. While CEO’s and others greed for filling their own pockets without taking care of others. It is time to right the ship.
