This time and the summer of last year rates were low to reasonable with Southwest, American Airlines. Delta had a capacity issue and changing at Atlanta was not always viable when it came to timing for business. The same goes for a few other markets like Indianapolis or a few others towards the east coast.

Beginning 2024 American Airlines started to cut back from Austin and Delta Airlines increased capacity. Why though the latter you increase capacity yet increase rates up to three times the rates of years past? Other airports across the country are seeing Delta and southwest increase their fares more than last year and years before. Strange thought for example Austin to LAX (Los Angeles) rates are low as were same price four years ago.

Marketing and demand have hit those travelling to the east coast and there are no signs of lowering currently. If you are travelling it is highly recommended that you book far ahead than you ever have years before. Airports like Austin have seen high passenger numbers in the last couple of years. Airlines are raising the rates and travel by air is increasing with some like delta as much as three times from a few years ago.
