Merger Talks Fail Before Takeover of Lynx Air

For a while there was talk of Flair Airlines merging with Lynx Air. A few aviation media outlets had posted a possible merger already. Other sources had mentioned the talks of a merger close but not yet determined.

What happened with these talks and a week latter Lynx Air ceases to fly? Late last night om X (formerly twitter) the above statement was released, Friday morning we shared this statement along with our morning reports. Airports like Halifax and Winnipeg did the same as this action was a sudden move by the airline. All those passengers booked on future flights have no flights. Earlier today at Toronto flight Y9638 to LAX was on the board scheduled then delayed and now canceled. Today Lynx Air flight Y9105 is scheduled to depart Vancouver for Calgary on time. As of earlier the website is down and has no other information.

Only two years of operations under Lynx Air and formerly known as enerjet. Founded as Enerjet in 2006  by a group of entrepreneurs, They created the airline based of a perception there was a gap for Canadians that both WestJet and Air Canada had left out. As the years went on a rebranding of the airline to Lynx Air November 2021. The last we heard Friday morning is that Lynx air filed for creditor protection and announced it would cease operations by February 26 due to financial issues. If that’s the case, then why was Flight Y9638 cancelled? What is going to happen to the other flights today? We are waiting to see what happens today as we are monitoring a few.
